UPDATE: ACLU SIlent on Florida Police-State Tactics

We STOPPED THEM this time, but they WILL be back again!

UPDATE: Within thirty-minutes of my having sent a FAX to the Florida office of the ACLU, I received a rather interesting e-mail from a representative of that office.

The ACLU, and all the other false-patriot organizations just like them, do NOT go away quietly. It is ONLY through concerted effort that these groups respond to what WE THE PEOPLE demand from them. Remember, their funding comes from people just like you and I, who join because they believe that the ACLU is there to protect us.

However, this couldn't be further from the REAL TRUTH of the ACLU:

The American Civil Liberties Union (founded 1920)

In 1924, a book by R.M. Whitney called THE REDS IN AMERICA made its' appearance. The American Civil Liberties Union, founded by Upton Sinclair [a member of the global elite], had by that time, become an important branch of the Third International, so Mr. Whitney [also a member of the global elite], gave several pages of his book to a description of its' organization and methods. The methods employed were designed to make Communism palatable to those whose nations would be destroyed by this special brand of patriotism.

Here below, are the words of Mr. Whitney, a former Associated Press writer and author of the book THE REDS IN AMERICA (pgs. 120-122):

The American Civil Liberties Union owes its' existence to the notorious pacifist organizations of war-time fame, which were presumably financed by German agents in this country, working desperately, and for a time successfully, to keep the United States from entering the war. To be sure, in its' present form, it has existed only since January 12, 1920, when it was formed as an outgrowth and with the merging of various organizations which were developed during the World War, dating from October 1914, and the members of which were pacifists, defeatists, German agents, radicals of many hues, communists, I.W.W., and socialists. Among the organizations included in the merger were such pacifist bodies as the American League to Limit Armaments, Emergency Peace Federation, First American Conference for Democracy and Terms of Peace, People's Freedom Union, People's Council of America, American Union Against Militarism, League for Amnesty for Political Prisoners, Civil Liberties Bureau, National Civil Liberties Bureau, American Neutral Conference Committees and Legal First Aid Bureau.

The activities of this organization are extensive. It assists any radical movement through publications of high standing in order to influence public sympathy toward the radical organizations, furnishing attorneys for radical criminals, conscientious objectors and radical or foreign spies, "bores from within" in churches, religious and labor organizations, Women's Clubs' schools and colleges and the American Federaion of Labour, in order to spread radical ideas. The union maintains a staff of speakers, investigators and lawyers who are working in all sections of the country. Lawyers are furnished on short-notice whenever a radical criminal gets into trouble. A press clipping service is maintained which keeps the organization in close touch with every radical criminal or group of radical criminals in trouble and immediate financial aid, publicity and counsel is offered. Aiding in this service are some 800 co-operating lawyers, and more than a thousand correspondents and investigators, representing 450 weekly labour, farmer, and liberal papers with 420 speakers and writers.

The American Civil Liberties Union was particularly active in aiding the Communists caught in the Bridgman, Michigan raid. An office is maintained in Washington, DC with the Federated Press organization to handle matters requiring direct contact with the Government. The policies of the organization are determined by the National Committee and the carrying out of them is left to the Executive Committee, which meets weekly.

Mr. Whitney quotes the following paragraphs from the 1920 LUSK COMMITTEE report concerning the American Civil Liberties Union:

An examination, however, of the propaganda and agitation which has been carried on in favor of the forceful overthrow of this Government shows that it does not consist of a mere expression of opinion, but invariably advocates measures for its' effectuation. In other words, the representatives of revolutionary Socialsts, Communists, Anarchists and other groups, state that by doing certain acts, this Government may be overthrown and in each instance, the agitator urges his listeners or his readers to commit those acts. [Editor - A well-known example of this is something called Project Mayhem in the 1999 classic film FIGHT CLUB, as well as the copycat crimes of 21 year-old Luke Helder, who was responsible for 18 pipe bombs placed in mailboxes across five states during May 3-6, 2002.] It is a well-sttled principle of law that any reasonable man is responsible for the logical and reasonable consequences of his acts and utterances.

While the Constitution of the State of New York guarantees the right of free speech, it also contains the warning that the citizen may exercise it "being responsible for the abuse of that right." The effect of the American Civil Liberties Union is to create in the minds of the ill-informed people, the impression that it is un-American to interfere with the activities of those who seek to destroy American institutions. They seek to influence legislators and executives to repeal or veto any act calculated to protect the State or the Federal Government from the attacks of agitators.

After some further analysis, the report says:

The American Civil Liberties Union, in the last analysis, is a supporter of all subversive movements, and its' propaganda is detrimental to the interests of the State. It attempts not only to protect crime, but to encourage attacks upon our institutions in every form.

The American Civil Liberties Union is closely identified with groups in practically every city in the country known as "Parlor Bolsheviki." Speakers are furnished for these dillettante radicals whose influence would amount to little, but for the fact they can be counted upon for financial contributions to any movement that promises them a thrill. It has been said that many idle man and women become identified with this "Parlor Bolshevik" movement through emotionalism and because it gives them something to think about. Whatever the reason, the Communists and the Civil Liberties Union agitators make use of these groups for financial aid and as a means of spreading propaganda.

"It is well known," as Mr. Whitney further explains, "that the Worker's Party, as a branch of the Communist Party, has access to the SUCKER LISTS of people who have contributed to the finances of the Party in various cities, and besides has SUCKER LISTS of its' own which are shared by the Communists. The most remarkable feature of these lists is the number of names of prominent people upon them.

Naturally, most of the people on these SUCKER LISTS have no idea what sort of an organization they are assisting, but their money assists just the same! Hazy notions of helping the poor and downtrodden and bettering the condition of the working classes serve to produce the necessary enthusiasm leading to subscriptions [memberships]. Among the persons whose names have appeared as members or officers of this society, we name the following: Roger N. Baldwin, Albert DeSilver, Scott Nearing, and Max Eastman.


BEING ON THE ACLU's SUCKER LIST:

When I first read this a few year's back, I immediately set about learning the truth about the ACLU. What I did was join the group, and then about six months later, recind my membership. What happened next was interesting as Hell, but also pretty depressing, as well.

I began to be HEAVILY SOLICITED in the following manner . . .

First, I received phone calls from someone with a friendly voice. I was asked why I quit my ACLU membership. I kept things as vague as I could, by answering with a reply that really said nothing of substance. I received these phone calls for more than three years, when I finally said to the caller that if they did not immediately put me on the DO NOT CALL LIST, that I would be filing a complaint with the New York State Attorney General's office, as well as the U.S. Department of Justice. I think I scared the crap out of the poor college slob whose job it was to call me that day, because she started stuttering and stammering.

However, I have not received another call from the ACLU since the day I said this.

Secondly, I was subjected to a two-pronged snail-mail and e-mail attack, where GUILT was heavily used to BLAME ME for not re-joining, should we have another terrorist attack. Pluh-eeeze, give me a break, will you?! I have saved all of these, which I received every couple of weeks, and they used every trick in the book --- blame, guilt, crying poor and/or low on funds --- and there I received emergency alerts, which were more begging and guilt-fests.

It was truly pathetic, and when the begging phone-calls came in, I started asking the caller if they knew that the ACLU was founded under the idea of Communism and International Socialism. I am certain that you can well imagine the responses I received from these callers.

In fact, this NEW WORLD ORDER that George Bush Sr. spoke about so often is built upon the idea of International Socialism.

If one takes the time to study the political philosophies of our so-called elected officials, they will find that NEARLY ALL OF THEM support this International Socialism concept.


THE ACLU REPLIES TO MY FAXes:

What is most likely to have happened in this matter, was this story was either a TRIAL BALLOON to guage public reaction, or outrage was so enormous and immediate, that the matter was withdrawn. My personal feeling is that it was most likely a TRIAL BALLOON, and an organization as savvy as the ACLU being misquoted is very unlikely.

If we have any hope at all of preventing this GLOBAL PRISON PLANET ala NEW WORLD ORDER, each and every one of us needs to send FAXes about every single thing with which we abhor and cannot tolerate. Most people reading this article have FAX ability at home or in their computer.

Why it is crucial that you send FAXes and NEVER e-mail, is because of all office communications, sending a FAX is second only to calling on the telephone --- but there you must know whom it is you are calling --- so you DO get through. FAXes go right to the TOP of the pile --- and proof of this is my own reply within THIRTY MINUTES of sending the FAX earlier this afternoon.

USE IT, or LOSE IT (our remaining freedoms).

The AP story misquoted our Executive Director Howard Simon as endorsing the "Miami Shield" program of conducting random ID checks without suspicion.

There won't be any random ID checks, and the AP story ran a correction saying that and printing the correct quote from Howard Simon.

ACLU Statement on Miami Shield Program

The ACLU has received conflicting reports as to whether the City of Miami police plan to protect us from terrorism, dubbed "Miami Shield,” will include random checks of identification by police.

The ACLU opposes as unconstitutional any plan to stop people and demand identification without reason to believe that there is criminal activity.

When law enforcement stops people based on individualized suspicion of wrongdoing, that is always both more effective and consistent with constitutional principles. Other post 9-11 law enforcement tactics such as randomly searching subway users in New York City or conducting mass pat-down searches of everyone entering the Raymond James Football Stadium in Tampa violate constitutional principles and are a waste of law enforcement resources.

Miami Police Take New Tack Against Terror
MIAMI, Nov. 29, 2005

(AP) Police are planning "in-your-face" shows of force in public places, saying the random, high-profile security operations will keep terrorists guessing about where officers might be next.

As an example, uniformed and plainclothes officers might surround a bank building unannounced, contact the manager about ways to be vigilant against terrorists and hand out leaflets in three languages to customers and people passing by, said police spokesman Angel Calzadilla. He said there would be no random checks of identification.

"People are definitely going to notice it," Deputy Police Chief Frank Fernandez said Monday. "We want that shock. We want that awe. But at the same time, we don't want people to feel their rights are being threatened. We need them to be our eyes and ears."

Howard Simon, executive director of ACLU of Florida, said the Miami initiative appears aimed at ensuring that people's rights are not violated.

"What we're dealing with is officers on street patrol (making informed decisions on which individuals to stop), which is more effective and more consistent with the Constitution," Simon said. "We'll have to see how it is implemented." One example of a legitimate stop might be an officer questioning a person entering a crowd while wearing a heavy coat on a summer day.

The operations will keep terrorists off guard, Fernandez said. He said al-Qaida and other terrorist groups plot attacks by putting places under surveillance and watching for flaws and patterns in security.

Police Chief John Timoney said there was no specific, credible threat of an imminent terror attack in Miami. But he said the city has repeatedly been mentioned in intelligence reports as a potential target.

Timoney said 14 of the 19 hijackers who took part in the Sept. 11 attacks lived in South Florida at various times and that other alleged terror cells have operated in the area.

Under the program, both uniformed and plainclothes police will ride buses and trains, while others will conduct longer-term surveillance operations.

Mary Ann Viverette, president of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, said the Miami program is similar to those used for years during the holiday season to deter criminals at busy places such as shopping malls.

"We want people to feel they can go about their normal course of business, but we want them to be aware," said Viverette, the police chief in Gaithersburg, Md.

At Monday's Heat game against the New York Knicks, season ticket holder Tony Gonzalez, 34, said he wasn't worried about any potential violation of civil liberties.

"When you enter an arena or stadium at full capacity you just don't know who is going through the turnstiles," said Gonzalez, an attorney. "Everything that helps our security, I'm for it."
