- First, it is the most realistic of any feature film portrayal of high school I have ever seen (as realistic as the short-lived Freaks and Geeks TV show), in the manner in which the teenage characters relate to one another.
- Second, as the film progresses, many deeply important subjects are examined in excruciating detail, resulting in a sometimes funny, sometimes melancholy trip backward in time.
- Thirdly, it gives an honest portrayal of the use and overall effect of marijuana, which confounded the “Just Say No” campaign that was in the midst of its’ heyday when this film was theatrically released in February 1985.
- A Bug's Life (1998)

One of the very best of all available 9/11 documentaries. This is also good for introducing Alex Jones to new viewers/listeners, and this is why it is on this list. Also contains a very enlightening conversation with attorney David Schippers, who tried many times to warn against these terror cells, who were allowed to operate within the USA, to provide the prextextual BOOGEYMAN that AmeriKa needed to incite hatred against the Muslim world.
This DVD is what really put Alex Jones on the map, as far as his documentary filmmaking is concerned. This was the first 9/11 documentary that pointed out the connection between Nazi Germany and post 9/11 AmeriKa, and also pointed out the connections between many people's suspicious behavior on or near 9/11 itself; such as the insider trading, terrorist war gaming and drills, as well as several high-profile people being warned against travelling on planes on or near 9/11.
In the eight years or so that I have been monitoring the work of Alex Jones, I have not seen him make any mistakes, or report inaccurate data. In the intervening years, the naysayers have quieted down to a considerable degree, and this is the best tribute I can pay Mr. Jones, as the research of he and his staff is of the highest degree of quality, and I have been able to use the work of Mr. Jones to wake-up others from the horrors that currently surround us.
911: The Road To Tyranny - Alex Jones (2002)
This film was very successful in showing Nicholas Cage playing twin brothers Charlie and Donald Kaufman, that I wanted to use it as an example of how data can be manipulated right in front of our eyes, as technology is used to now convince some percentage of the viewing public that reality is what we SEE but NOT what we EXPERIENCE FIRST-HAND.
This film showed that technology is now sufficiently advanced that it can be used to fool the viewer that they are seeing something other than what is in front of them, and what is real.
Adaptation (2003)
This film shows the sexuality that is now attributed to underage girls, as well as the middle-age men that lust after them. Watching a middle age man hit on his daughters teenage schoolmate is NOT my idea of a fun night at the cinema, but as a sociological window into our sick society, it was A MUST-SEE DVD!
This film also shows the TRUTH behind unhappy marriages in our society of today. Lester Burnham has had it with his wife, who acts like an uncaring shrew. Society based upon the myths of happiness and martial bliss is also shown, as Lester lusts after his teenage daughter's friend Angela, begins smoking pot, and finally buys that sportscar he wanted as a teenager.
A look at the things that make us happy, and keep us happy, in today's twisted society.
American Beauty (1999)
Documentary filmmaker Kevin Booth has a real winner in his latest film -- a look at the Drug War in America. Kevin was able to gain some incredible access to Drug Warriors such as Gen. Barry McCaffery, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Sgt. Lou Daigle (LAPD Drug Enforcement) -- as well as governmental officials that recognize the futility of Drug War. Such people include Rep. Cynthia McKinney, Rep. Ron Paul MD, retired DEA agent Cele Castillo, and former Governor of New Mexico Gary Johnson.
The documentary also takes the viewer behind bars with EXCLUSIVE interviews with Federal prisoners 'Freeway' Ricky Ross, Tommy Chong, and John Walko -- who was sentenced to six-months on a Chain Gang -- for eleven cents of Crystal Meth!
Finally, marijuana activist, comedian, and TV star Joe Rogan makes an appearance just to say that HE LOVES TO SMOKE POT!
A MUST-SEE DVD!
American Drug War: The Last White Hope (2007)
This film is set seven years into the future, a future that is filled with the addictive control of society by those who peddle SUBSTANCE D, which exists for purposes of government control of the population. With George Bush Jr's plan to have every man, woman, and child in this country subject to MANDATORY governmental psychological evaluations -- just makes this film all the more prescient to the events of today -- which can be monitored directly from the Internet.
A MUST-SEE film and DVD!
A Scanner Darkly (2006)
How enjoyable your high school years are depends in which of the five stereotypical cliques you find yourself. Of all the films that have attempted to examine the meaning of those years, The Breakfast Club is notable for three reasons:
The propaganda program that was launched in first lady Nancy Reagan’s name in 1984 never stopped any drug use. A tale of redemption and friendship, this film follows a group of five students to detention hall for an entire Saturday. Each character was the perfect cliché stereotype of the five basic personality types that are found in every American high school, regardless of the year. These five personality types walked the halls of my high school, just as they walked yours.
However they may refer to themselves, these five personality types behave just as they are expected: an athlete, a brain, a princess, a basket case, and a criminal. Now that I am twenty-five years past my own high school graduation, this film remains a sentimental favorite of mine, just as I knew people exactly like each one of the characters in the film.
In my own case, I fulfilled the role of the brain, which always confounded the instructors who attempted to make me conform to their way of doing things. I was labeled a “troublemaker” simply because I continuously questioned authority. I also knew those who “fit into” the other stereotypes --- the athlete, the princess, the basket case, and the criminal. Judd Nelson, who played the criminal John Bender, even wore a button on his leather gloves throughout the film that announced that he was “not saved.” Of the many times that I have watched this film over the years, I never noticed the button before. While it took the zoom feature on my DVD player for me to learn about this, I was intrigued by this easily missed detail.
The Breakfast Club is the story of one entire Saturday spent in detention, with five students who all come from different social cliques and financial backgrounds --- as indicated by the vehicles they arrived in. As with Claire (the princess) and Allison (the basket case), having parents in the same tax bracket does not guarantee success in the child’s ability to integrate into the social scene of the school. All the confusion and alienation is out in force, and harkens back to a simpler time when all one had to worry about was how to become even more popular. This is because being popular got you invited to the after-school parties, and wherever there was loud music, girls, and a good time --- I was often the first to arrive and the last to leave.
This movie is also notable for its’ representation of marijuana, which was displayed as I had experienced it among those in my peer group, and NOT as it was represented in the media during that time, as in the famously outrageous reefer madness propaganda. Here, marijuana is shown to be an ice breaker, a conversation starter, and the common thread under which the five would come to bond, as the day progressed. In fact, had it not been for the marijuana they smoked, this disparate group may never have found anything in common at all. While those who have tried to suppress the availability and distribution of marijuana may not like its’ honest portrayal here, this group of teens may not have found another reason to bond.
The Breakfast Club (1985)
This film contains an infamous speech, given by Hopper, the character played by Kevin Spacey:
“You let one ant stand up to us - then they all might stand up. Those puny little ants outnumber us a hundred to one. And if they ever figure that out, they're goes our way of life. It's not about food, it's about keeping those ants in line. That's why we're going back - does anyone want to stay? Let's ride!”
This film contains the subtle message to children that they should STAY IN LINE, and go along with the orders they are given by their parents, teachers, adult family members, authority figures, etc. From a very early age, children are given these subconscious commands, which they are PROGRAMMED to obey.
CAUTION: Do NOT show this film to children! Adults only!!
A Bug's Life (1998)
This film from Stanley Kubrick contains the methods of HOW TO brainwash and desensitize someone, which is shown in great detail. This also shows gang behavior that has come to be known as GANG STALKING, a problem that has grown worse in today's society, as compared to years and decades past.
A Clockwork Orange is also a story of dissent, as the main character of the film goes about writing a book on this dystopic future Britain. This sees him becoming a PROBLEM for the people in power during the time of the film's events. Sadly, this becomes a TRUE STORY insofar as the main character is forced to make a decision --- does he stick with his plan of DISSENT, or does he cut-and-run?
A Clockwork Orange (1972)
The Anime film entitled AKIRA (pronounced: AH-KEE-DAH) is a film that predates THE MATRIX by eleven years. In fact, if the viewer takes both AKIRA and the graphic novel entitled THE INVISIBLES by Grant Morrison --- one discovers that THE MATRIX was heavily plagurized by the Wachowski brothers --- as vast swaths of the film had been lifted out of whole cloth from these two source materials.
In fact, THE MATRIX was so plagurized by the Wachowski brothers, that it is hard to understand WHY there haven't been massive lawsuits flying left and right. The reason why? Because AOL Time-Warner has much more money than does either Grant Morrison or Katsuhiro Ôtomo, the creators of THE INVISIBLES and AKIRA, respectively.
The first MATRIX film contained enough truth to get peoples' interest, but the last two films were nothing more than propaganda pieces.
This film is based upon the Japanese comic book of the same name. Of interest upon viewing this film --- immediate signs of influence felt by The Matrix can be found.
For instance --- the character named Kaneda --- wears a jacket that displays a capsule on the back --- half red and half blue. This is where the Wachowski brothers got the red pill blue pill idea.
A lot of technology may be shown, but, the world of this film is dystopic.
The idea of militarized police forces are part of the film, in comments such as:
“The army’s working with the police to stop anti-government groups from protesting.”
and
“ . . . using AKIRA No. 26 to foment terrorism.”
The Story of AKIRA:
In the year 2019 --- 31 years after Tokyo was destroyed by a top secret weapons project during World War III --- two childhood friends who met at an orphanage --- bike gang leader Kaneda, and his protégé Tetsuo, become involved in experiments to bring out psychic abilities.
Ultimately, this makes Tetsuo very strong, nearly invincible.
The Colonel in charge knows the secret of the AKIRA project, because his father was part of the original project that destroyed Tokyo in 1988. He remained skeptical of Tetsuo’s power, as well as being resentful of the corrupt and bickering civilian governmental structure that attempts to limit his power.
This film also showed advanced beam weapons in a post apocalyptic “Neo Tokyo.”
AKIRA (1988)
This is another ALEX JONES documentary, which shows the facts behind the staged election of 2004. Shows definitively that Bush Jr. and Kerry were nothing more than finger-puppets of the global elite. Contains documented proof that the election was nothing more than a stage-managed side-show designed to fool the sheeple into believing that there is still something resembling REAL CHOICE in AmeriKan elections.
However, I have three simple words that PROVE that there is no choice, and AmeriKan elections, are really s'elections:
BLACK BOX VOTING
I rest my case . . .
American Dictators: Documentaing The Staged Election of 2004 - Alex Jones (2004)
This film shows the current state of ROAD-RAGE, FEAR, and DISTRUST of others on our nation's highways.
After a morning rush hour fender-bender, an attorney races to replace a missing file by the close of court at the end of the day.
The story of morality in a world that has fallen apart . . .
Changing Lanes (2002)
Harry Caul is a nationally known expert on surveillance. The Director of a large company has hired him to record the conversations of two of the Director's employees. Some years previous, Harry's work directly led to the murder of three people, and now he has reason to fear that it will happen again.
Even though this film is thirty-plus years old, it does a wonderful job of showing how surveillance and the tracking of a target are carried out. Forget nonsense like THE TRUMAN SHOW and ED-TV. This is the real-deal here.
The Conversation (1974)
Captured on hidden-video on July 15, 2000, the Cremation of Care ritual, held at Bohemian Grove each summer, is a part of their Midsummer Fire Festival. The ritual on this DVD is in NO WAY related to the Christian mass, or anything related to Christianity. This 2005 "Director's Cut" also contains an additional mini-documentary entitled THE ORDER OF DEATH, which is an update on this story since Alex Jones first broke the story in October 2000, when this was first released on VHS in an edited form (because of the limitations of VHS).
Dark Secrets Inside Bohemian Grove (2000) & The Order of Death (2005)
An allegorical examination of CONSUMER CULTURE in AmeriKa, as seen through the eyes of people trapped in a shopping mall surrounded by zombies. "When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth," was the rallying cry of the survivors, who were in the midst of the last gasps of pre-consumer society.
Even though this film is essentially about BLOODTHIRSTY ZOMBIES, it still makes for an interesting comment on today's SPEND, SPEND, SPEND mantra of keeping up with the Jones family.
Dawn of the Dead (1978)
Along with the film THE BREAKFAST CLUB (1985) and television's FREAKS N' GEEKS (1999-2000), Richard Linklater's second feature film DAZED AND CONFUSED showed in realistic terms, my own high-school years. Everything about this film is perfect -- the dialogue, the period dress, and most especially the music.
Although this film was a BOMB when released by UNIVERSAL in September 1993 -- it has since gone on to become a LEGENDARY CULT CLASSIC through simple word-of-mouth recommendations and video sales. This was so much the case that this film had been released in the vaunted CRITERION COLLECTION series, as a 2 DVD Set.
Well worth checking out, for a true taste of Middle Americana in the year 1976!
Dazed and Confused - Criterion Collection (1993)
A rather sickening look at the increasingly bizarre behavior of today's teens. This film examines some of the extremes that they will go through to fit into their peer group. When a teen moves in as the new kid in town, he wonders why he doesn't fit in. After befriending three societal rejects, one of which is a conspiracy theorist, he comes to understand WHY he will NEVER fit in --- and this is because these teens are mind-controlled by nasty and vicious methods --- and the new kid is the next in line!
Disturbing Behavior (1998)
When lawyer Robert Clayton Dean meets an old pal accidentally, he does not know the trouble that is going to hit him. His pal, being pursued badly, slips him a disc without Robert reckoning - before being killed. Soon, Robert is believed to have something that others want - but what? Later, he stumbles across a setup that would render him the main suspect of a gruesome murder, hadn't he dropped by.
Being shown several bugs by Brill, a trustable contact of the victim, Robert learns quickly about the fire he's playing with - and decides to win instead of giving up. The murder case of a staged suicide by a U.S. congressman may cause some heads to roll, if the disc containing the proof can be found in time and delivered to its destination - by the right party, that is.
Enemy of the State (1998)
This film is an excellent example of the use of subliminal manipulation. Subliminals are embedded visual and auditory information that while unnoticeable to the conscious mind, are interpreted by the subconscious. The book below contains an entire lengthy chapter on the film, which is explained in detail. The interesting thing about this film is that many effects in 1973 were done manually. In the films of today, most of what appeared in this film can now be duplicated with computer graphics.
See: Subliminal Seduction - Wilson Bryan Key (Signet Books; December 1974)
The Exorcist (1973)
As Dr. Bill Harford arrives at the masked ritual, after he has given the password, Fidelio, which we are told in the film is the name of Beethoven’s only opera. He has to pass through a total of seven people to enter what the DVD calls THE ABYSS. This is certainly interesting, as it may be symbolic of the Seven Gates of Hell --- or the seven rings Dante’s Inferno. There were two men outside of the house, one man at the front door, one man in vestibule, where Harford gives the password a second time, another man takes his cloak, one man at the inner door, and the seventh masked man standing directly outside of the ritual itself.
NOTE: The film EYES WIDE SHUT was the subject of a Kentroversy Papers Special Report, the link for which is immediately below.
Eyes Wide Shut: Occult Symbolism (March 19, 2006)
Eyes Wide Shut (1999)
The story of a lawyer who was hired by a firm with curious connections. This is one gig where it is best not to slip up. This film is also a textbook case in the lengths some go to to enforce such secrets.
And yes, there is a power far greater than LA COSA NOSTRA ...
The Firm (1993)
The second of only two truthful portrayals of high-school, the other being The Breakfast Club. THIS was high-school in 1978. They got the entire atmosphere correct, especially in the casting, music, dialogue, and the interaction between the characters.
And, to anyone who was in high-school in 1978, this is your time machine backward . . .
Freaks and Geeks - TV Show (1999-2000)
This is a story of an individual who has the guts and perseverance to exceed the limitations placed upon him by genetics. GATTACA deals with genetic engineering in a future where success is determined by a person’s DNA. Each living person sheds 500 million cells per day, most of which are skin cells.
In Gattaca, the surveillance society has gotten to the extreme where people are tracked by the smallest of evidence --- human DNA.
GATTACA (1997)
The Harry Potter series of books and films are filled with occult references and symbology. Please take a look at my article on this issue, which is located in the KENTROVERSY PAPERS SPECIAL REPORTS section of this website.
Hereis the link to my report on HARRY POTTER:
Intentions of Harry Potter Author? (July 11, 2005)
Harry Potter Film Series (2001-2010)
A horrible film out of a great series of short stories by Issac Asimov, but, this film is part of this list as an example of the technology that is available to FOOL YOU. If you believe that you are seeing Will Smith fighting a hundred robots, perhaps you'll believe that new tape by Al-CIAaeda, and their ever-powerful leader, OSAMA YO' MAMA.
I, Robot (2004)
A fictionalized story of true-life drug experimentation on American soldiers, which took place over several decades, and is still going on to this very day. In addition to being an excellent film with an intelligent plot, it shows the effect that a LACK OF INFORMED CONSENT has on participants.
A truth-telling film that I cannot recommend highly enough!
Jacob's Ladder (1990)
One of the very best 9/11 documentaries on 9/11, and a testament to the power of the Internet. A straight-ahead look at the facts, with no detours in disinfo-land, where we are expected to believe in the obvious red herrings associated with that day, such as cell phone calls that could not possibly have happened at any altitude higher than 4,000 feet.
Mr. Avery not only is a true patriot, but is also a shining example of our younger generation, who are going to be left to pick up the pieces when the current cabal is finished raping the environment and the sovereignty of this once-proud nation.
Loose Change [9/11] - Dylan Avery (2002)
The best DVD on occult symbolism of the Illuminati that is available today. I am looking forward to seeing The Freeman Perspective DVD, and the one from Michael Tsarion, both of which will cover the same subject matter.
In its' two-hours, Jordan Maxwell in this DVD, gives more than 150 examples of the occult symbology that surrounds us everywhere on this planet. It is amazing at how much this has invaded our lives, and Jordan Maxwell provides the information on what each symbol means and where it can be found.
This will make you see things much differently!
Jordan Maxwell's Basic Slide Presentation (1993)
How do THEY get us to go along with their evil plans and deeds?
The answers to this complicated issue are found on this DVD, which explains the manner in which they MANUFACTURE CONSENT, which the large mass of society goes along with by their SILENCE. An eye-opening trip into media influence in our lives.
To get a balanced perspective on this subject, please read BATTLE FOR THE MIND in addition to watching this DVD. This DVD presents the WHY, and that book presents the HOW of brainwashing and mind-control.
For the FULL PICTURE of this subject, please read the two FRITZ SPRINGMEIER books on ILLUMNATI MIND-CONTROL SLAVES.
Illuminati Formula To Create An Undetectable Mind-Controlled Slave - Fritz Springmeier and Cisco Wheeler (1996)
Deeper Insights Into The Illuminati Formula - Fritz Springmeier and Cisco Wheeler (1997)
Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media (1992)
This is the third DVD by Alex Jones on this list. This one talks about the police state provisions that have been implemented since 9/11. This gives the impression that this was all part of a bigger agenda, and is part of the pretext to bring in their much desired new world order.
Martial Law: 9-11 Rise of the Police State (2005)
This film is perhaps the most interesting allegory on the true agenda of the global elite that has been presented in the cinematic format in perhaps all of the history of Hollywood. The Matrix asks all sorts of philosophic questions, and many of us have had these subjects on our minds for quite a few years since the introduction of computers and more specifically, artificial intelligence. It is our religious and dogmatic nature that leads us to these deeper thoughts of “who are we, and why are we here?”
Only this time, we are left wondering; "Why are THEY here?!?"
Another interesting aspect of The Matrix is the amount of truth and clarity that it presents is rather startling.
This is perhaps the single most important film that has been released in my own lifetime. Why do I say this? Because the message behind the film is attempting to reveal something very important about the world around us. It is trying to tell people that they are being lied to, but the people cannot understand the concept, so they refuse to believe such a thing exists.
The Matrix (1999)
This film shows something called Mag-Lev Transportation, which stands for Magnetic Levitation. Director Steven Spielberg refers to his “think tank” and the end of fossil fuels on the DVD supplements disc.
Ultimately, this film is about GUN CONTROL, as in the end at the banquet, when the old man makes the speech about the end of crime. This entire speech is anti-gun, and that is troubling, as public possession of guns has prevented tyranny throughout history. This is why all pretexts to remove weapons from out of the hands of the public are bogus, and are Trojan Horses --- said to be about one thing --- when they are really about something else entirely.
Shows a federal Department of Pre-Crime; is this the ultimate extension of Homeland Security?
Anti-freedom technology soon to be introduced includes holographic computing systems and interfaces; retinal scanning; and pervasive surveillance.
The place where the precognitives were kept was called “The Temple.” Freemasons also meet and worship in the freemasonic temple.
The films display of the detention center was reminiscent of; The Vats of The Matrix, and the Door Vault of Monsters, Inc.
Minority Report (2002)
This animated feature tells the story of how children’s fear is used as an energy source for evil and negative entities --- monsters that lurk in children’s bedroom closets scare the children during the night, and this fear is the fuel that runs the entire monster world.
The interesting thing about this film is also the saddest aspect of the film. It shows in a purely allegorical manner, how a race of extra-dimensional entities are energized through fear and manipulation of small children. This is represented visually, by these “monsters” slipping through a “doorway” from the monster dimension, directly into the bedrooms of small children, where they are then scared.
The children’s fright powers the monster world, and this is a fictional representation of David Icke’s and Giuliana Conforto’s theories concerning why we still have no factual proof of extra-terrestrials, even though there have been rumors of them for years, thousands of cases documented, and they have become a part of the planet’s folklore, and have been for the past sixty years or so.
Could it be that the reason why we have yet to have confirmed the existence of E.T.’s, is because there possibly could be something about them that is so negative that their presence cannot be revealed, simply because the truth is so horrible?
Monsters, Inc. (2002)
The celebrity of CRIME --- need I say more?!
Natural Born Killers (1994)
A representative view of the occult world and the value of such information in the life of the initiate.
The Ninth Gate (1999)
This film shows how certain spies and assassins are recruited and trained. A real peek into the world of the UNDERGROUND INTELLIGENCE BUNKERS and how this information is used to fight terrorists and hide crimes FOR REASONS OF NATIONAL SECURITY.
Point of No Return (1993)
I was appalled upon seeing this documentary, which proves two things. First, it proves that FOX-NEWS is no more than NAZI PROPAGANDA; and second, the people who watch FOX-NEWS are morons under the most severe form of mind-control.
OutFOXed: Rupert Murdoch's War On Journalism (2004)
The JOKE of this film is to ask the question:
"How many television seasons away from The Running Man are we?"
This story is about the hunting and murder of real criminals on television, and it involves that Nazi bastard Arnold who has professed his public admiration for Hitler.
Is THIS where REALITY TV is headed?!
The Running Man (1987)
This is YOUR FUTURE.
Why?
Because tens of millions of Americans refused to STAND UP and PROTEST while we still had a chance.
It now might be TOO LATE . . .
THX-1138 (1971)
This is a film that shows the MIND-CONTOL of middle America, and this is the way in which this could be shown on television in 1975.
The Stepford Wives (1975)
Shows technology that is rumored as being kept from the public, and since it involves Egypt, it made it to this list. Also shows a method of transportation (wormhole) technology that is likewise hidden from the public.
Stargate (1994)
This DVD contains organized crime behavior that is now known as GANG STALKING. This is the targeting of individuals, who are singled out for harassment. Except in the last thirty-five years, things have gotten HIGH-TECH.
Straw Dogs (1971)
NOTE: Aspartame, which is mostly known as NutraSweet, was approved because of kickbacks paid to Donald Rumsfeld, of the Neo-Nazi-Con cabal.
There are NINETY-TWO SYMPTOMS associated with aspartame poisoning, and still, the FDA refuses to recall or withdraw this poison from our food supply.
The true story of a woman who was hopelessly addicted to DIET COKE, and who suffered devestating aspartame poisoning. She had ingested a six-pack each and every day until she nearly died from poisoning from aspartame. Of the 50 states of the USA, only New Mexico is currently trying to ban aspartame.
Predictably, they are receiving maximum resistance.
Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World (2004)
“I’m disgusted by what we’ve become in America. I truly believe there is brain-death in this country.”
--- John Carpenter, discussing his film THEY LIVE
Horror master John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing) directs his action-packed sci-fi thriller about one man’s battle against aliens who are systematically gaining control of the earth. Rugged Roddy Piper stars as the loner who stumbles upon a terrifying discovery: ghoulish creatures are masquerading as humans while they lull the public into submission through subliminal advertising messages. Only specially made sunglasses make the deadly truth visible.
THEY LIVE (1988)
The DRUG WAR as seen from the perspective of the foreign agents who are fore sworn to fight and defeat an enemy that exists WITHIN our own borders. Shows the things that DEA agents go through, as well as the corruption and kick-backs received by USA agents, from drug lords half a world away.
The story of a Mexican policeman, finds himself mired in corruption, while a pair of DEA agents work undercover in the inner city of San Diego. A wealthy drug lord finds himself arrested, with his wife taking over the "family business", while he is away in prison.
Winner of FOUR ACADEMY AWARDS; Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Film Editing.
Traffic (2001)
The story of police corruption on the streets of the inner city, which is justified as necessary to the fighting of the DRUG WAR.
The film begs the question:
"Who's worse, the drug-laden criminals of the inner-city, or the corrupt police sent to keep drugs off the street?"
Training Day (2001)
The truth behind the Iraq war, and the LIES that are now familiar to everyone who possesses a functioning mind. Any and every documentary by Robert Greenwald is worthy of everyone's attention. He is a gifted journalist with a patriotic heart.
Uncovered: The Whole Truth About The Iraq War (2004)
Any and every documentary by Robert Greenwald is worthy of everyone's attention. He is a gifted journalist with a patriotic heart.
Unprecedented: The 2000 Presidential Election (2004 edition)
This film shows how the political machine of Washington, DC creates and controls media operations, which is so important to revisit this film as we drift evermore toward tyranny. Watching the reality of this behind the locked doors of the West Wing also shows the level to which events are fabricated, such as the conveniently timed video tapes from Al-CIAaeda, where Osama, in front of a BLUE SCREEN known to everyone who has ever seen a local weather forecast with the satellite map as background.
Wag The Dog (1998)
This film has always creeped me out, from way back when I was a young boy. It's kind of like those of us who are totally freaked out when a clown shows up. So, when I discovered the writing of Fritz Springmeier, and what he wrote about this film (and books), I learned that my aversion to this film was with reason.
A very good reason . . .
The Wizard of Oz (1939)
CONCLUSION:
These films and documentaries are my stab at trying to put together a list for people who do not read books, which I am sad to report, is many more people than I cared to admit. These videos are little pieces of knowledge, wrapped up in a tight storyline. Many times, people in the Hollywood filmmaking field have to be quiet about their politics.
A couple of years back, I had the opportunity to talk with John Carpenter about his 1988 film THEY LIVE. His response told me that he was a patriot who really cares about the USA. His way of getting out that message was to do THEY LIVE, which in my opinion, is the best of all the truth-telling Hollywood films. While the film made no money, it delivered a message that is more important today, than it was in 1988 when the film was made.
Do yourself a favor. THEY LIVE on DVD is now like $8.99. Go buy a copy, and play it for your family and friends.
