It is intersting that you missed one movie I thought you would have had up on your list:

I tried to put things on the BOOKSHELF and the DVD SHELF pages that people are likely to not know about. 1984 is a very well-known text, which is very well known as both a book and a movie.
ReplyDeleteThese two lists weren't very easy to compile. As you notice on the site, I did nothing else last week than compile those two lists. Every time I would get something ON the list, I would remember three other books that should also have been included.
The DVD SHELF still has six titles that need to bring the total to fifty. But, as far as what those other films are going to be, I have no idea as of yet.
Think of this; if I wanted to show the inside of an insane asylum, would I pick 12 MONKEYS or ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST to show that? Then, you throw into to the mix, which of the two will likely get the message across? So, it's hard to pick.
Some people think that THEY LIVE as a movie, sucks pretty bad. However, as an example of showing the agenda, I can think of few films BETTER.
And then, you get to THE MATRIX. The first film was kick-ass. The other two were pretty horrible. So, I left the two others out, and picked the first film ONLY.
I have one more forthcoming list --- CONSPIRACY TV. This will have not only the best television shows, but also, the best episodes of those shows.
For instance, on the very first episode of THE LONE GUNMEN spin-off of THE X-FILES, they show a jet plane being flown into the WTC tower. This is now out on DVD.
