New FOX-TV Reality Show In "Underground" Bunker

FOX-TV is the one network that consistently demoralizes its' audience, which is all being done on purpose to keep the audiences' attention on things that do not matter, and help keep them asleep.

On Wednesday, March 22, 2006, an execrable vision of dystopic reality-TV was broadcast by FOX, which is hardly a surprise, as they have been in on the lowest common-denominator fare right from their first season, when MARRIED WITH CHILDREN was considered evidence of a decaying society. Today, MARRIED WITH CHILDREN would be considered on a par with the PATTY DUKE SHOW, LEAVE IT TO BEAVER, and OZZIE AND HARRIET of the late 1950's and early 1960's. Today, the television programming has condoned LYING, CHEATING, SCAMMING, and worse.

What is bad about this program, is that they used American Idol as its' lead-in. This assures that a young audience are the likely viewers, and brainwashing them to accept this type of treatment of fellow humans as all a normal part of life.

This new show UNAN1MOUS has nine people locked in a bunker, and they vote unanimously for ONE PLAYER to win the money. The prize is $1.5 MILLION DOLLARS, and the longer they are in there without agreement, the money begins dropping in value.

There are no windows, no clocks, no phones, no television, no internet, no XBOX, no DVD's.

This is sensory deprivation, clausterphobic-inducing lock-down with eight others you just met.

Here is what the website says about this show:

SHOW INFORMATION - UNAN1MOUS

A dynamic hybrid of unscripted drama and competition, from the producers of “The Biggest Loser” and “Beauty and the Geek.”

In a dramatic new television experiment, a diverse group of nine strangers are locked in a bunker, where they’ll remain until they decide who is worthy of a $1.5 million-dollar cash prize.

There is a catch, though, because the longer it takes to make a unanimous decision, the less money there will be to win. If they take too long, they will be left with nothing.

Upon entering their isolated living quarters, the nine contestants are cut off from the outside world, locked away, and presented the opportunity to win $1.5 million. The only thing standing between them and the money is a simple vote. If they are able to come to a unanimous decision about who should win the money, the game is over. If the outcome of the vote is not unanimous, the money clock is activated and the cash prize begins its countdown with potentially thousands of dollars lost every hour until the next voting period.

In every episode, each of the nine contestants, who include a minister, an atheist, a ladies’ man and a feminist, must convince the others to vote only for him or her. Before the vote, personal facts, secrets and lies are revealed, perhaps helping them decide who should receive the money. As the game progresses, contestants will be eliminated from winning the cash prize, but – in a television first – they will continue to live in the bunker and will continue to vote.

Will contestants’ greed for the money outweigh their desire to help someone potentially less fortunate than themselves? Who will lie and connive, and who will be truthful and sincere? No matter what, the final vote must be UNAN1MOUS.

UNAN1MOUS was created by Lincoln Hiatt and co-created by J.D. Roth and Todd Nelson. It is executive-produced by 3Ball Productions and Lincoln Hiatt.

Sounds great, eh?

This is the type of programming that makes people accept SITUATIONAL ETHICS as a normal and expected part of the contestants behavior. This particular programming makes a GAME out of LYING, CHEATING, STEALING, and being SELF-CENTERED. Morals and ethics have no place in the genre of reality-TV, but because there are a million and a half dollars at stake, this unethical behavior is tolerated and even excused, simply because IT IS ALL PART OF THE GAME.
